Listing for transplant and surgeon wants to remove both kidneys before hand to reduce infection risks. Anyone ever been in this situation? Could be some time before I get a match. Still have a little function, but I am on dialysis. Not sure about this.

Hi. My surgeon waited un till after tx before my nephrectomy reason was it would make finding a match easier and cause less problems i also had a little function also dialysis my twins when removed were 9lb7 and 9ld 4 good luck and stay positive

Hi, I have a cousin who has had both kidneys removed and is on dialysis and I believe doing pretty well! I wish you the best. Prayers for you. God can do anything😀
