Not sure on that one if you had a stomache bug it would interfere with you blood tests as with any bug like a cold etc!

Thank you, that does make sense. I am also going through the change, so makes me wonder if that can affect our numbers too, as my hot flashes (flushes) are off and on etc.

That is interesting thank you. I have just taken a look now, is there one with a transulater as well in English do you know please? Unless I'm not looking at the correct videos perhaps. Happy to know you got your function numbers back up, well done.

I'm in Stage 4 Kidney Failure and have been trying to monitor my own results. I still don't understand the gfr numbers - everyone seems to be using different numbers in this forum. I can see that my Creatinine went from 5.19 to 5.21. I don't understand the gfr number on the results. It just says eGFR Non-Afr American 9 -- does anybody know what normal is ? or too high is? But, my main question is about when I will need dialysis. I feel like there is a bomb strapped to my chest (kidneys actually) - And I'm waiting for it to go off. I am still working and it's getting more difficult to handle my high stress job. Can anyone tell me what you Creatinine Number is (roughly) when you need to go on dialysis (I do realize everyone is different, but I couldn't find anything on the Internet that used the same numbers as I'm getting on my test results). My Protein went from 1961 to 2073 stating high/Protein at 170 - My phosphates are high 5.3 (down from 5.6) - I am taking Renvela 800 mg during or after each meal and also the Sodium Bicarbonate 10Gr(650 mg) to keep my potassium and phostates down and dieting on the kidney diet and common sense diet. I've lost 53 lbs since March 18, but I have been throwing up about once or twice a week. When I ask my nephrologist when will I need to go on dialysis, he keeps telling me, "you'll know" - what the heck does that mean? Sorry for the rambling...to sum. What level Creatinine requires one to be on dialysis. And is anyone else on these inhibitor drugs and do they make you feel even worse? Or is that just my imagination? First time on this site. Thank you for any and all responses.

As far as I have learnt from Internet, eGFR below 15 may need dialysis. I wish you never need it.

GFR N CREATINNE ARE TWO DIFFERENT THINGS normal creatinine level is 1.0 to 1.1

gfr is glomerular filtration rate deduced from creatinine value.

the egfr is a combination of results mixed to work out the kidney function in the uk for instance an egfr of 15 is 15% function at 15/16% that is when dialysis options are talked about & decisions made depending on how the person feeling is in themselves dialysis could be started my husband was about 6% creatines were about 700 by the time he started most people i think are between 6 to 12% when they start! hope this helps
