easier way to get clean catch urine specimen

mom cannot get urine spec in lab so they gave us sterile urine cup to do at home. mom cannot stand long, and she urinates in toilet then i put cup under but it gets all over floor. please what can i do to make this easier for both of us. thank you

Ask mom's doctor if the doctor will agree to mom's using a *hat placed on the toilet seat to direct the urine more accurately into a plastic pan for catching urine that fits on top of the toilet rim. That's what they do in some hospitals. *What they call a hat is a hollow plastic object that sets on two sides of the toilet rim to direct the urine into a receptacle. I don't know whether I've described these items accurately. Maybe someone else can explain them better.

I was trying to think of something similar to what jaykay  has suggested, all I came up with was to ask at the hospital they usually have a dept. where you can get implements for the disabled on loan they must have something they can suggest. I also wondered if you could perhaps try to hold a babies potty under your Mum. It must be so embarrassing for you and your Mum, I feel for you both.

We use cheap throw away plastic jugs that fit into the toilet bowl when we're doing samples and adequacy tests.
