Life changing diet to reverse type 2 diabetes now available free on the NHS. 💚

Hi everyone,

This was in the news before as the NHS diabetes prevention program and its being relaunched so here's an article:

england.nhs.uk/2020/09/thou...

It sounds very promising if we can help people lose weight and prevent or reverse type 2 diabetes and all its complications then we must and the best bit is the diet is free on the NHS as from today.

I think it's nice to have some good news as we want to help others lose weight and be healthy and healthy eating is the key to good health...🌈💚

Hi, I don't think this is an option for everyone. It depends what area you live in, which is a shame.

This is a great question rosie72 so here’s an article in yesterday’s Sun:

I heard about it on the radio as it had a 50% success rate and obesity/diabetes and COVID are a scary combination so it is being reintroduced, it says in the article what areas it’s available in as I didn’t realise this, so thanks for pointing it out. 😊

The list where this is available includes where I live but my GP practice doesn't support this.

It was suggested that I went onto the new diet by my endocrinologist but my practice wrote to me, saying that if I wanted advice they could not provide it but gave me a number of links. No mention of the diet. Then I found out it was not available in my area. (Thanks for the article referenced below, Jerry) So I have resorted to a Low Carb, High Fat, very reduced sugar diet. No weight loss as yet. Travelling in hope

Thank you for the information. Unfortunately, I was diagnosed too long ago to be eligible for this programme.
