Hi everyone I'm new to this so bare with me, I've had type2 for 2 years now and just wondered how you all control your diabetes with diet and what foods are good for keeping you fuller for longer I'm also on metformin.

Pretty much what Concerned said and to re-iterate that there's no need to stay away from natural fat.

Key thing is to think about each food 'will this spike my blood sugar because it contains hi GI carbs?' and 'as this food is carb loaded is there an alternative I like/prefer'? If you can switch a few things - rice for cauliflower rice; spaghetti for courgette noodles - it will make the world of difference.

A good place to start is to track what you eat on something like MyFitnessPal as you start to really see what macronutrients (fat, protein, carbohydrate) you're eating.
