Feeling a lot more positive today after 30hrs without booze. Since I started on this, my most recent attempt to drastically cut my drinking, I have been sober 25 days and drinking only 6. I know that is still too much considering how much I have consumed on those 6 days. My other battle is with my weight so staying of the booze helps a lot with that . All those empty calories. With that in mind, I'm off out for a walk to hopefully burn off some of those calories, plus a walk in the fresh morning air always helps to start the day on a positive note.
Happy Sunday everyone.

Good for you. Every hour I can stay away from booze is a miracle. My default mode is to drink. I can handle anything except pain and discomfort. Lol. The desire to self medicate comes even when I’m feeling good. I drink to drown my feelings of anger, low self esteem, self pity, fear, etc.
and it’s all not about self medicating. I have a disease that tells me I don’t have a disease. And it will be different this time. This time I’ll control it. But next thing I knew, I had a drink in my hand. Drinking without my permission.
It’s a cunning, baffling and powerful disease and without help it is too much for me to handle. I need the Group Of Drunks (G.O.D.) that I found in AA. No religion required (or preached) in AA. But I do need a power greater than myself to handle my problem.
