Mini stroke

Hi.a few months ago my dad had an mri scan.he was showing signs of memory problem and really wasnt himself .this was over 3 months ago.found out today he has had a mini stroke! Just worried and needed to chat !

Take comfort in the fact that the medical people are in dad's corner and appear to be on the ball. Hopefully he will be fine. x

Hi and welcome. The brain can rewire around quite a few damaged areas; it's known as neuroplasticity. I had a full stroke 11 months ago and my brain is still slowly adapting. Contact the Neurologist who treated your dad and ask if there are things that would help him and things that he shouldn't do. My Neurologist said that I shouldn't do inverted yoga poses or lift weights in the gym. He will also need to discuss what medication to take and, possibly lifestyle changes; for example if he has atrial fibrillation he will need to discuss anticoagulation. The Royal College of Physicians have published excellent stroke guidelines. There are two versions, one for clinicians and the other for patients and carers. Hi ..i know late reply.. i found out the stroke is related to vascular deminta i havent been on here much ..thought i come on and didnt think anyone WOULD reply 😊
