A very interesting article on boosting your Immunity to fight any viral infection...
(1) A list of immuno boosting food as given in the article which include a wide varities of colourful vegetables & Fruits , Vit C containing citrous fruits , sunlight exposure for vitamin D/vitamin D Supplements... Healthy Fats from Almonds, Chia seeds, coconut, Extra virgin Olive oil, ......... Indian spices such as Garlic, Ginger, Onion,Turmeric, Green Tea, Tulsi tea...... Plant protein from Varities of pulses/Legumes.......
............If you eat a wide varities of food then you would never miss the anti-oxidants, Bio-flavnoids, Soluble fiber, Phyto-nutrients, vitamins- minerals etc.....which help enhance immunity...
(2) Mind your portion size and keep your blood sugar under control....use frequently your Glucometer at home to see whether you are within permissible limits....don't stop your medication or do any wild experiment ....
(3) Physical exercise post meal or otherwise which suits you ... At least twice or thrice a day....30-45 mnts each
(4) Remain hydrated through out the day - whether it is Herbal tea, Soup or plain warm water with lemon.....keep sipping...
(5) Do warm saline water Gargling twice a day...Those of you know Jal Neti, it is a very good Nasal cleaning process in a yogic way....it is simple, helps a lot in warding off any virus that enters your respiratory tract... if you can practise some Pranayam- simple breathing exercise which keeps your lung Healthy.
(6) 7-8 hour sound sleep is a must....if one is not able to sleep 7-8 hours per day,, he may be vulnerable to virus attack...since your immunity is compromised by sleeplessness ....
Please do consult your physician and if required your Doctor may prescribe you a suitable sleeping aid tablet or even a sedating low dose anti-depressants drug or an anti-histamine which could induce sound sleep...But you should be careful if your blood sugar fluctuate widely and if you tend to have hypo.... Please do consult your doctor and don't resort to self medication....π
(7) Follow strict hand hygiene - frequent washing with soap and water.. break your habit of touching your face ,nose,eye with your hand.
(8) Remain in Self quarantine at home...
