In reply to Barani 19,I have to say that when my ppbs was at 200 despite yoga diet control etc,I took this powder and it came down to 140 in 15 days. But then BS is never constant whatever package you are following. After sometimes you have to keep changing the treatment package depending upon your BS level. After all diabetes is nothing but management of BS,however you do it.One formula can not be applied to everyone.

You are right

Yes like they say one size does not suit all . It is advisable to keep on changing the packages once in three months . One can take fenugreek powder , Tinaspora decoction , Water of Ladies finger ( soaked overnight ) Gymnema sylvester , Azaridicta Indica , Turmeric ,Aloevera , Zinzer , Nigella sathiva , Zeera water , Curry leaves paste mixed in butter milk , Dhania powder added to water , etc all in rotation . Even if one takes prescribed medicines there is no other way except to take them for ever as the menace of diabetes can be controlled but never cured .In such a case there is no harm in taking any of these things in rotation changing once in 3 months . But the most important thing is other conditions like diet control , exercise , sleep , rest , stress control all have to be observed with out fail .In following this practice apart from diabetes control all the other health parameters would be under control .

I completely agree with you Hidden and kamtadale . One size does not suit all. To give some more background, I have used natural medicines like Kalmegh (Andrographis paniculata) extensively for months together when i was initially diagnosed with T2D. It had a dramatic influence in reducing my FBS from 440 to 240s(mg/dL) in a week's time. But it hardly had an impact later and then i eventually stopped taking that. I have recently re-started using Gymnema Sylvestra (after a gap of 5-6 months) as my ears burn in the night(2-5am) if i do not use that for some months. I seriously do not know how Gymnema cures that issue. But coming to the BS, i have hardly seen any effect.

Actually we have to bother about the effects of sugar when there are any ill effects . Some years back the ranges were different to be confirmed about diabetic state . Every now and then the values are getting lowered . It is said that there is a medical mafia behind that . We are not quite sure of that . But the fact is once a diabetic starts going for the prescribed drugs , there is no end to that .One thing leads to other .There is no curative effect . In such a case it is better to go for natural means and measures instead of going for supplements and drugs made by pharma companies . In case of type 1 there is no other option, but type2can opt for that as the side effects are not much . But that also can't be followed indefinitely as per the argument that a thing which can affect positively can also affect negatively if taken for too long. So the best course is not taking any herb or any medicine of any system for too long . Then what is left is to practice moderation in diet and lifestyle habits .

Sir taking gymnema sylvestra alone is not effective that much,it should be taken alongwith kerala, jamun, Bel Patra,Neem Patra and Kalmegh powders, mixed well in equal quantity, and taken one spoon twice after meals with lukewarm water.I have been taking it since 20 years alongwith diet control and excercises.

By the way one tea spoon of fenugreek seed powder is said to be equivalent to one tablet 500 mg of Metformin in effect of reducing sugar levels and if taken for 10 days twice per day the fenugreek powder reduces sugar levels remarkably .When one is taking metformin , care should be taken in monitoring sugar levels or else sugar levels may fall too low , as per a verified study .This observation was scientifically proved as per the study and the dose of metformin should be reduced to avoid unwanted consequences .

I take one spoon Fenugreek seeds, soak them in water in night, take the water in the morning and chew the seeds. Is it ok ?

in reply tokamtadale

yes . That is perfectly ok , But some people who can not take the water can fry the seeds lightly , powder that in mixie and add a pinch of salt to that , a tea spoon of ghee and eat that as the first thing before lunch and before dinner . That is tasty and gives the same effect . As diabetes is not a disease a diabetic can eat every thing but only with portion control . Modern life style needs only one half of what was consumed in the olden days . In that it is a wrong idea that ghee should not be taken . ALL FOODS HAVE TO BE TAKEN FOR THEIR MICRONUTRIENT VALUES . Fenugreek powder two spoons per day either in the form of powder or paste or just soaked and taken in soaked seeds form is ok .As usual care should be taken in taking fenugreek seeds powder for not more than 10 days . After leaving for a couple of months it can be taken again for one week or so as a course .
