Total Hip replacement

Doctors have diagnosed Total Hip replacement for my groin pain. Twenty seven year-ago I suffered a car accident and got my pelvic bone fractured and left femural head displaced. At that time orthopaedic surgeon operated on my left hip joint and set right the displaced femural head. I was in bed for 3 months. Later I recovered fully and led normal life for last 27 years. Now due to this groin pain and difficulty in walking doctors are advising THR. Can any body share his experience of THR. Who is the best doctor in India to do THR. What is the outlook of this operation?

I think that uncontrolled type 2 diabetes may have caused your hip joint pain. Please state your latest HbA1c result.

I think samanta is saying that it was the accident all those years ago that has resulted in the need to replace her hip. Diabetes may contribute but doesn’t sound like it’s the primary cause of needing the THR. ☹️.

Is that correct samanta?

Take a look at UK, mail on line last week, all week there were articles on pain and pain management. One of the article talked about hip replacement and asked the question is it necessary.

Many orthopaedic surgeons and professors say do not go for procedures!!!!

I have a problem in my left leg, from child birth one leg is a bit longer than the other one.

In the process of growing up few falls, did not break any bones!

My left leg has always given me problems, the other day I tried to run to catch a train as it was leaving, could not run, left leg was in pain and I missed the train and had to wait 15 minutes for the next train, well this is life.
