My dta
when you went for blood tests, did your doctor see the blood test results?
Any advice from your doctor?
I am afraid you need to look at your diet if not on medication!

Based on your blood Creatinine level of 1.26 mg/dL, your kidney function is good. Your eGFR is > 60.
Keep your blood pressure and blood sugar in low normal range. Nothing to worry about. What is your age?
Did you use this formuls to get the egfr?
"eGFR is estimated GFR calculated by the abbreviated MDRD equation : 186 x (Creatinine/88.4)-1.154 x (Age)-0.203 x (0.742 if female) x (1.210 if black). If you have an eGFR value calculated by a local laboratory, use that."
Thanks for your revert. My age is 58+ and used to get my creatinine level to be about 1 or so. The lab shows blood urea to be below 45 and since it touched around 60 so got slightly worried. My HB1AC is also about 8 now.
Yes, your blood urea level is higher than normal. There can be various reasons for that. You must discuss these results with your doctor. You should review your diet not only for kidneys but also for blood sugar level as your HbA1c is high. You should aim to bring it down to < 6.5. Are you overweight? It would be helpful losing weight if you are. Reducing protein consumption is also recommended for reducing the load on kidneys.
Thanks ! Praveen. Need to reduce 3 to 5 kg of weight which am targeting to do.
Consider reducing carb in your diet along with intermittent fasting. Eat lots of non-starchy vegetables.
Sure ! Thanks. But suppose fasting is not recommended for ppl with diebetic conditions.
That is not true. If you are on diabetic medications then you may have to reduce the medicine doses during fasting if blood sugar goes too low. Read Dr Jason Fung's articles on net. There are many video presentation by him on youtube.
1. "If kidney function is not normal, creatinine level increases in your blood. ... The creatinine level also varies according to a persons size and muscle mass. Normal Results. A normal result is 0.7 to 1.3 mg/dL for men and 0.6 to 1.1 mg/dL for women."
2. "In general, 7 to 20 mg/dL (2.5 to 7.1 mmol/L) is considered normal. But normal ranges may vary, depending on the reference range used by the lab, and your age. Ask your doctor to explain your results. Urea nitrogen levels tend to increase with age."
3. "According to the National Kidney Foundation, normal results range from 90 to 120 mL/min/1.73 m2. Older people will have lower than normal GFR levels, because GFR decreases with age. Normal value ranges may vary slightly among different laboratories. Some labs use different measurements or test different samples."
You need to discuss your bloods test results with your doctor for medication or life style change.
Reduce your salt intake. Test urine albumin and micro albuminuria. Get your bp checked and ask your family allopathic physician to advice
