Best option for Vitamin D is spending about 20 to 30 minutes in the sun daily. It is not difficult under Indian conditions.

Naqui,

If u live in U.K. You can take HUX D3 20,000iu capsules.3 in week. One capsule on alternative day.

I mean 1: on Monday and 2 on Wednesday.

That's very high dose. I initially may be 60000 units every 10 days for a month or two. Then once in a month. 60k units. Those who are exposed to the sunlight for longer periods require less or no supplement.

Alternatively one can take 2k units daily and then reducing the dose to 1k units daily or on alt day.

Depends on which country you live in. If it is India or a country which has good sunshine then I would be going for a quick walk in the morning as it benefits your body as well as can soak up some Vit D naturally. I eat Mushrooms, green leafy veggies. In colder months, i do take once a month sachet of Vit D but I would suggest you get your doc prescribe it.

I DO AGREE WITH MR RAMANA. BEST OPTION FOR VITAMIN D IS TO SPEND ATLEAST 15 TO 30 MINUTES IN THE SUN DAILY IF YOU ARE LIVING IN INDIA.

Walking in early Morning sun would not enhance vitD levels..One need to walk at least 20 minutes daily in sun shine during a time of 10.30 am to 4.00 pm ( sun positioning above 60 degree) in half sleeve T SHIRT, and half pant to have good body exposure.

I myself I am a diabetic patient and I prefer walking at least 15 to 30 minutes daily in the sun. I have never insisted that it should be in the morning only. What I have said is that I do agree with Mr Ramana that the best option for vitamin D is to spend at least 15 to 30 minutes daily in the sun if you are living in India.

As said above, it depends on the country they are in. In India , sun is abundant but not all countries.
