My sugar reading and life expectancy
Your concerns are understandable but your worry about your longevity is rather exaggerated. There are countless diabetics who are leading a healthy and productive lives.Take Wasim Akram, for example, who is a chronic diabetic but played cricket at the highest level for a long time. What is needed for you is to keep your sugar levels within reference range. To do that, most important weapon you can use is thorough knowledge about diabetes.Use search function on this web page to access all the earlier posts on every subject related to diabetes.Or you can post your queries here to clear your doubts. You are still young and it should not be difficult to achieve your goals.Go for quarterly and annual medical checkups and comply with all the requirements.
Worries makes diabetes worse. Adopt healthy life styles and keep worries away. Longevity is a function of both above. Another important thing to note for diabetes is to stay physically active and fit . All the best. Don't worry
I am diabetic for thirty yrs,now I am running 70 yrs, I also use to feel the same way in the beginning but ones you start to keep sugar level fairly near normal, it's effects will not be felt , only for past one yeR I am feeling diabetic neuropathy. That to because of reduced physical excercise due to old age. Take the advise of diabetologists, do what all excercises your body can sustIn,follow LCHF food pattern,do not worry about it,you will live long.

As for your longevity with diabetes, as ramana42 has said, "there are countless diabetics who are leading productive and healthy lives". I've been diabetic now for 30+ years and a type 1 with multiple shots a day. I also have a job working for my County's Recreation Department working with Seniors 55+ of age. I'm going to be 38 years old this May. I use the DEXCOM system to monitor and take care of my blood sugars 24/7 using a CGM (Continuous Glucose Monitoring system) with sensors. With the DEXCOM, my blood sugars have been doing better. Have you talked with your doctor about getting something like the DEXCOM for your blood sugars?
Hello nita, Bo need to worry.I am 65 years old ,diabetic for last 15 years. This is in family from my mother's side.My mother is a diabetic for last 40 years. She is 90 years old. Have you had a hba1c done to see where you stand ?. If you are really keen to know..
Ya I checked hba1c, it remains in range 5_6.but the thing is that I m also e trait means carrier of abnormal hemoglobin. So doctor doesn't believe on my hba1c test.
Your fasting and pp readings match your hba1c readings. So why does he not be alive it?. Also what medications are you taking and for what all ailments.
Sir I m taking cetapin xr 1g in morning and 500mg at night. When I take any carbohydrates type food I feel dizziness. Even small amount. Is it due to diabetes.
