Not a regular cola/pepsi drinker. But happend in a recent hangout with my team,as a pre-diab, i tried 2 diet pepsi cans. Everybody thought im in a diet :). With a butterfly stomach i dranked it.
Reaching home about 20 mins, i ran and checked, it was showing 105!!. Is it genuine??? It was really sweet and delicious. I thought it will be hitting the 160's. Im not a supporter nor a cola drinker but how this can happen??

Diet coke is laced with artificial sweeteners.Regular intake is reported to be very harmful. Some people say, normal sugar is a healthier alternative to sweeteners. The result you got is not a surprise since you had diet coke which does not have any sugars. In my view, coke is better avoided, even by non diabetics.
Yes agree, dont take coke even i was not diagnosed. Also getting too much mixed reviews for artificial sweeteners. Iam now completely avoiding sugar, so some times cravings is too strong. Also one guy suggested Diabliss sugar. But too scared to take sugat in its natural form :).Can you suggest any altetnatives?
Have you tried Stevia, a natural sweetener extracted from plant? This sugar substitute is commonly used by diabetics. Some spices like cinnamon also gives sweet taste in which I normally add in my hot chocolate or coffee.
I think diabliss sugar is totally different from Stevia. Diabliss contain cane sugar and some herbs and fruits with GI of 44.4. Stevia is natural sweetener from Stevia plant with zero GI and calories. I don't use any of them and I don't really know how safe for long term use. Hence, you should consume it in moderation.
Diet coke is ok once in a while as long as it does not become a habit like mine. I do take one can of diet coke every day without fail. I am trying hard to give up this habit. Having said that, i have not noticed blood sugar rise due to this. Stevia in moderation should be ok.
