  • i doubt if the pharma industry suggests eating carbohydrate. Why are we misleading diabetics? It is people who decide their food and suffer diabetes chronically.

What is the other way as last sentence suggests?

  • ADA/AMA/AHA are part of Pharma nexus.

ADA/AMA/AHA and their cousins across the world PUSH HIGH CARB LOW FAT Nonsense even to diabetics. They are so badly entrenched in the mess of safeguarding personal profits at the expense of public health that if any practitioner starts to deviate -- Gary Fettke is one such victim -- the entire mafia goes after that practitioner and even goes to extent of cancelling their license.

The same thing has happened with Prof Tim Noakes in SA.

This cozy club is so scared of being exposed.

  • Anybody who is on insulin knows pretty well that carbohydrates have to be eaten moderately to control the sugar levels. If someone does not know about that simple fact, then they need some education. Where does the pharma industry come into this? They play hardly any role in deciding the insulin dosages. It is between the diabetic and his/her doctor.

  • Why would a type 2 diabetic continue to be on insulin when it is totally reversible?

The pharma companies come into this because this fact is not widely publicised and in fact actively suppressed, including in publications in major medical journals.

  • You refused to listen to what I had said more than 3 years back. So you are on insulin with a levels of control which may keep your doctors happy but not people who have known the damage of insulin at A1C above 5.6 (or even 5.3).

  • I started educating diabetics here (and got bashed by a few who refused to understand or get educated by what I talked; even formed a group to attack me with verbal insults) about carbs, fats, diet & diabetes management & Insulin etc in Jan 2013. Majority understood it though, and a large majority of that majority switched to LCHF diet. That number reaching 2000 now :)

  • Happy to iI am in inform you that I am in neither of the groups

  • Please throw some light on reversing diabetes. Also, give me some suggestions for my guidance. I am 75 and on insulin since 3 years.

  • You can start with this link ramana42 phcuk.org/wp-content/upload...

  • I read the article end to end and the contents are quite acceptable to me personally. But the article is more about obesity and it's relationship with diabetes. But please consider,is not the problem related more with food industry rather than pharma industry? In most cases, obesity is a result of eating large portions of highly processed foods.I do agree that as a south Indian vegetarian I have to be extremely moderate with intake of carbohydrates. So, I now rely on vegetables, boiled mixed sprouts, one egg per day and small quantity o cheese.I also consume a little of ghee without guilt. So,why am I on insulin and my sugar levels are not that great?Because with advancement of age,I have developed sleep disorders and breathing problems. These together have thrown my diabetes control out of order.Luckily for me modern medicine has rescued me by relieving me from both the problems and my numbers are very encouraging now. That is why I am not very enthusiastic to blame the medical/pharma guys for my problem.I am looking for my doctor to cut down the insulin dose during my next visit.

    Thank yo,for your response.

  • I am not allowed to talk about my work on this forum, when I posted from my blog, it was deleted. So I'm not quite sure how to post useful content. But I do help my patients reverse their diabetes - with or without insulin - within few days.

rvmasalvad, I would like to be compassionate with diabetics : Most of them are not truly aware about what they should and 'shouldn't' eat, and that's because we as doctors are not truly aware how to guide them to not just suppress their condition but actually reverse it.

  • kindly take up the issue of your not being allowed in the monthly meeting with administrator scheduled on 23rd i.e., tomorrow evening on hte forum site .If the info not advertisements, administrator will surely allow it. if infoformation is genuine and not misleading and harmful to the health.

you will appreciate that lot of misleading ads are posted in this forum with motivation to make money which cant be allowed.

  • Activity2004

    For your attention please

  • I'd be interested in what right of appeal we have rvmasalvad , Activity2004. I was recently restricted on the healthy eating forum. Someone posted their circumstances, then when I responded they reported me saying I had offended them, what did I know of what they had gone through? Well, they'd told me what was relevant at the time? A newbie backed them up, which suggests it was entrapment, but more than that, a warning would have sufficed; I couldn't even apologise or retract my reply that they were offended by.

  • Restrictions are placed if the administrator is convinced that the reply offends the blogger. However you can raise this in tomorrow,s meeting when administrator can adequately answer you.

  • cure

you can attend to this querry.

  • I was once banned for two weeks for just ending my reply with a smiley to one person who used to get offended even if I replied to his posts and he had few friends in his group who used to back him up by hitting the report button as a group.

Actually the whole idea of people complaining on the basis of being "offended" sounds very childish. If anyone is so sensitive that they feel offended because of simleys etc, they should not be on internet.

For example, I "SHOULD" feel offended if some one talks nonsense against LOW CARB HIGH FAT in diet. But, I don't. I debate with data :)

  • DiabetesDestroyer,

I will be sending you a message later when I can talk about the issue. Please be patient.😀

  • I have sent a message to you, DiabetesDestroyer.

  • Diabetes is a major cause of blindness, kidney failure, heart attacks, stroke and lower limb amputation.

In 2015, an estimated 1.6 million deaths were directly caused by diabetes. Another 2.2 million deaths were attributable to high blood glucose in 2012.

Almost half of all deaths attributable to high blood glucose occur before the age of 70 years. WHO projects that diabetes will be the seventh leading cause of death in 2030.

Healthy diet, regular physical activity, maintaining a normal body weight and avoiding tobacco use are ways to prevent or delay the onset of type 2 diabetes.

Diabetes can be treated and its consequences avoided or delayed with diet, physical activity, medication and regular screening and treatment for complications.

  • Along with the above, what we as Integrative medicine physicians do is : Hormone Balancing, Detox, Stress Reduction techniques, Targeted Supplementation and Mind Body Balance. It is common to achieve remission. leading to complete good health, in fact not just good health but optimum health.
