Hello Sir. I have query. Are these above mentioned tests FBS ppbs and a1c are sufficient to check about diabetes? Or another tests are also there? Ppbs means to check sugar after meal but is it to be checked after 1 hour or after 2 hour of eating? And what should we eat in meal? I mean intentionally should we eat sweet rice etc or normal meal with chapati daal veg to get checked ppbs? And one more can we drink 2 glass of water before checking FBS?is it OK ? Please reply.

Initially you can consider these tests FBS, PPBS and HBA1C as sufficient. You can start with a diet and lifestyle change for the better. - eating healthy and with less carbs and more leafy and green veggies and exercise. Initially it is good to check PPBS 1 hour and 2 hours after a meal as it will give you indications of which foods to totally avoid. Best to have a home meter for checking.

If you visit a Diabetologist or an Endocrinologist who specialises in this disease he may suggest other tests like cardio, Kidney, Liver function etc depending on your symptoms age etc. You must totally avoid all sweets and restrict high carb foods. So there is no question of testing with sweet, rice etc. Yes plain water is OK before any test Goodluck!

Wellcome to the forum.

I know that a Diabelogist takes care of only Diabetes whereas an Endocrinologist takes care of Thyroid and Diabetes and other Glandular diseases. Though do remember I am not an expert and have told from my limited knowledge
