Please contact your doctor about the timing for the insulin doses to be done. All types of insulin work differently for different diabetics. What brand did your doctor have you start taking? What was the dose they have recommended you start with? When taking insulin, you also have to count your carbs. so you don't take too much or too little of insulin and end up having lows/highs after meals and/or snacks.
Hi
There will be generally 3 type of insulin,
a. Short term insulin (work for 5 to 8 hrs)
b. Mid term insulin ( work for 8 to 12 hrs) like Mixtard
c. Long Term insulin ( work for 24 hrs) like Lantus
It depends on which type of insulin you are going to use.
