Nihal - I work with diabetic people

Dear All,

I am thrilled to see this community being able to help each other deal with diabetes. There are a lot of misleading information on the internet and whatsapp messages about Ayurvedic treatment for diabetes. Its good to talk to some people before they jump into self experimentation.. :-)

Hello Dr Nihal ,

I am diabetic since 1998. My age is 67 years. Height 5 f, 10 inches. At present I take Glypride 2 mg BD. Galvus Met (50+850) before break fast, Roimet 500 mg OD before dinner, and Winofit OD. The BS levels are 120 Morning and 158 after lunch. The BS level is almost same since last three months. The H1AC is 6.4. My weight has reduced from 75 Kg to 72.6 Kg in last six months after taking Galvus Met in place of poiz 15. Kindly suggest to maintain the weight.

Please check out the Diabetes Research and Wellness Foundation website for the free leaflet for "Exercise and Diabetes" and the leaflet for "A Healthy Diet and Diabetes". Both can be downloaded, read and/or listened to at anytime. Go to: drwf.org.uk/diabetes-leaflets

Hope this helps. Happy and Healthy New Year.

Dear Sir, It is good to see that you have good control over your diabetes especially over this long duration of 18 years. At the age of 67 weight of 72.6 is not unhealthy.

Please go through diet and good exercise pattern. If you have special concern do let me know.

Weakness may happen due to a variety of reasons. Assuming your appetite, sleep and other daily functions are normal, please use the following daily.

- 1/2 teaspoon of turmeric powder in 15 ml of Amla (India gooseberry). The mixture can be taken in empty stomach every morning.

Specific sugestions can be made only after understanding you condition in detail.
