well they all are interconnected... or else why statin is prescribed as soon you are diagnosed as diabetic.

I am not medical person... however as per my understanding ....as we get diagnosed as diabetic.....this implies that insulin level is high.... high insulin level also affects your liver (fatty liver) also increase your LDL level... which is not desirable .....in order to bring down LDL they prescribe statin....

So as per my understanding prescription of statin is linked to insulin level...

Now I am not sure if statin is prescribed in T1

However along with LDL statin also reduces HDL level...which is not desirable... also tatin surely affects liver function which is seen in elevated SGOT /SGPT levels...
