Diabetic diet.: Does diet has any thing to do... - Diabetes India
Diabetic diet.
Absolutely EVERYTHING!
Yes a healthy-eating diet plan will help you to control your blood sugar.
I have diabetes for last 20yrs.Even if following doctor dutifully(balanced diet and exercise.. I run half marathons)…landed up in insulin shots.I was avoiding fats and relied on healthy carb.I became insulin resistant.Last 2 yrs on low carb.If I had known the importance of low carb then,I would have controlled definitely sugar on oral drugs.I do not know how many are here with 20+yrs diabetes history and controlling diabetes efficiently( hba1c< 6)consistently with balanced diet.I would have been happy if it had worked on this diet. I have seen seen following sequence in all long term type 2 diabetes.
Diagnosis> control with balanced diet,exercise>few yrs later>same diet,exercise and oral drugs>few yrs later>insulin
I agree in the beginning it works.Later on fails.
Low carb works.
