If you haven't already made changes to your diet and lifestyle make it. And do talk to your doctor and see if they can prescribe alternate medicines which are more affordable. If you say you have uncontrollable diabetes then you will probably need to be on meds to get it under control. At the same time start a diet program and eventually you may be able to get off the meds all together.

Good health

Gemer 2 is a tablet consisting of 2 mg Glimepiride and 500 mg Metformin and costs Rs 85.00/strip of 10 tabs. METPRIDE 2MG/500 MG tablet and GLIMPIL MF 2 MG/500 MG are also of the same combination medicine and its prices for 1 strip of 10 tablets are Rs. 8.10 and Rs 18.80 respectively. The problem is it may not be available at all the medical shops as its price is less and thus the profit of the chemists is also less.

When I was in the US I was using metformin, but when I returned to India my provider prescribed glyciphage which is the generic for metformin. price is affordable too.

Glyciphage from Franco- Indian[Metformin]

Glyciphage 500mg20Glyciphage TAB22.60

Talk to your doctor, and surely he will recommend a lesser priced med.

You can also try 'Ecoglip T 20mg Tablet' this contains 'Teneligliptin 20mg'

I have heard that this is a safest and good medicine to take with Metformin and its DPP4 Inhibitor Character helps your body to use insulin normal way. Some doctors may suggest Januvia but it has more side effects and unsafe on Liver.

More Teneligliptin Brands & Their Manufacturer (ALL 20MG):

Rs. 60 Ecoglip T 20mg (Maybe NOT Available In Local Medical Store) / Ozone Pharmacy

Rs. 66 Tenlimac 20mg (Maybe NOT Available In Local Medical Store) / Macleods Pharma

Rs. 75 Tendc 20mg (Maybe Available In Local Medical Store) / FDC Pharmacy

Rs. 75 Ten DC 20mg (Maybe Available In Local Medical Store) / FDC Pharmacy

Rs. 79 Dynaglipt 20mg (Maybe Available In Local Medical Store) / Mankind Pharmacy

Rs. 89 Tenrol 20mg (Maybe Available In Local Medical Store) J B Chemicals & Pharma

Rs. 108 Zita Plus 20mg (Maybe Available In Local Medical Store) / Glenmark Pharmacy

Take one or 2 at a time (NOT MORNING & NIGHT, TAKE 2 TABLETS @ ONCE ONLY IF YOUR SUGAR LEVEL IS TOO HIGH OR ELSE STICK TO ONE PILL SAME TIME EVERY DAY)

You will see some relief and after a 2 to 3 Months, maybe your Insulin dose will also be reduced. Some Doctors also say that you can use this medicine first when you have been diagnosed for the very first time.
