You may be aware of Dr. Jason Fung, but if not you would be well advised to research his work.
His new book is out. Here's the link to a review, but all his information is free on the web via his blog and youTube. This gives a brief precis, but if you followed what is here uncritically your health would improve immeasurably and more importantly it is likely your diabetes would disappear.
I have no connection whatsoever with Dr. Fung other than huge admiration for his work.
I generally have my last meal early evening. Yesterday that was 5.30pm then nothing until 12 noon today. That was 18.5 hours. I could easily have gone 24. I broke my fast with half a tin of fish and a piece of cheese downed with coffee and double cream. Had half a dozen prawns and a few nuts that needed finishing at 2.30 and I'm good for many hours.
If you try to fast when your last meal was mainly carbohydrate then you will get a sugar crash and will be hungry. It really is just a matter of filling up on just about anything fatty until satisfied.
