The link between diabetes and pancreas was not established until 1889, when physicians Oscar Minkowaski and Joseph Von Mering became interested in just how the pancreas fit into the digestive process. They removed a dog's pancreas and a few days later cloud of flies were feeding on the dog's urine which was rich in sugar.

Hormone insulin was not discovered until 1921 by a team lead by scientist F. Banting.

First person to be administered insulin ( derived from ox) was a 14 yrs old named Leonard Thompson, who was dying in the Toronto General Hospital. He received first shot on 11th January 1922. Unfortunately the insulin they used was impure.Thompson received an improved batch 12 days later and his health improved immediately.

Insulin was then given to dozens of other dying children and they saw the miracle of recovery.

The following year 1922. BANTING was granted NOBEL PRIZE in medicine. Banting and his team would have potentially made billions from insulin, but they have GREATER GOOD IN MIND,when they sold its patent to the university of Toronto for HALF A DOLLAR.

GILPIN FAMILY WHISKEY-- James Gilpin of London which produces this whiskey, takes URINE of elderly diabetes patients and filter it. Then add it to mash. The sugar in urine begins the fermentation process, and within a few weeks, a perfectly serviceable whiskey is produced. It is NOT SOLD but des tributes FREE as a "Public Health Statement."

It is all a question of mind set. Some have negative mind set, either inborn or acquired, while some have positive, that also inborn or acquired. Distorted thinking is often the out come of failure in life. No body can change that. So we have to put up with that.
