If you really want to manage diabetes long-term with lower use if drugs and better numbers then switch to LCHF Diet. If you continue to live on ADA/USDA/Who/Mayo advice, you can never hope to reduce drugs and as time passes drugs will keep on increasing both in dose and numbers. There's a community of LCHF for Indian diabetics is at dlife.in

You can also check following post:

healthunlocked.com/diabetes....

Drugs are not the answer because:

healthunlocked.com/diabetes...?

ADA diet and recommendations will only lead to higher and higher use of drugs as time passes. Mayo is also nothing but what ADA preaches.

10+ years is not a long term? Let's see what Dr Jay Wortman has to share about his diabetes and LCHF:

youtube.com/watch?v=zjUdtK6...

Near 20 years of Jenny Ruhl is a longer term still

50+ years of Dr Bernstein is a still longer term.

Now on to few INDIAN cases:

(1) Bhaskaran Pillai is a diabetic of 20+ years history. Went off all drugs

(2) Arun is 20+ years hisory. Slowly reducing drugs and yet hitting better numbers

(3) ram_latha is close to 20 years history and has one of the best contols on half the dose.

(4) appachen is a 20+ year history with 3 bypass surgeries and taking highest quantity of fat even at 70+ age. His Insulin dose came down from 100 to 50 and he hit A1C 5.5 IIRC. He should have hit DKA as per your logic as he is on INSULIN shots. He didn't. His recent ECG turned out PERFECT.

He takes 3 TBSP VCO and 3 TBSP Butter from morning till lunch :)

So 5 to 6 year theory is just speculation and nothing else. It's just an OPINION devoid of any PROOF.

Want more? I can quote many many more.

None have entered DKA. BTW, do you know that DKA can also be hit on so called healthy diet -- HIGH CARB LOW FAT -- it has nothing to do with LCHF. DKA is related to residual insulin in blood. So, please don't spread MISINFORMATION.

Only those who have lived on LCHF can comment "FACTUALLY".

Rest can just "SPECULATE" to do "SPECULATIVE Blogging" (borrowing this phrase from one of your post against first diabetic who started talking LCHF here) to scare people away from something which really works and has been proven to work across the world.

This long-term effect talk is all scare tactics. Ketogenic diet (a far more FAT and far less CARBS than LCHF) has a 90+ year history.

"This diet may work temporarily till you shed accumulated sugar arising out of your present meal style "

How many days?

I have been on LCHF for 3 years. So you mean all accumulated sugar is not yet out in three years? Never heard of such thing that accumulated sugar being shed out.

Diet is FIRST precaution in my opinion. What's wrong about it?

41788 and how many of them are BOTS -- accounts registered through automated scripts? Any idea? I am very sure you won't know about these things as this is far more technical stuff.

I will air my views against anything that's a FALSE statement as far as LCHF goes. You have been making such false statements since early days and they are all FACTUALLY incorrect statements so need to be countered.

Where did I promote website in my replies on this thread? Why are YOU just making FALSE allegations?

Every number is important. For you it may be miniscule but those numbers are far bigger than rat model studies and the number is far far bigger than 11 involved in Newcastle study. Despite all your (and 3 more) opposition, LCHF has only grown. Obviosuly it will be inconsequential for you guys as it disproves everything that you talk against LCHF, even without having any first hand experience.

Foreigners not to be quoted? Then stop quoting all the studies that you latch on to. Practice what you preach FIRST. This is a chronic issue with you guys. Two set of rules. One for yourself and one for others.

Debate instead of getting upset on being countered in polite words.

How many days have you guys lived on LCHF. I guess one user mottu123 did the right thing when he said what he had to say against one from your group, regarding LW. Experience is first teacher. What's your experience with LCHF? ZILCH!!!

On site promotion allegations -- You guys are promoting Mayo/ADA. So why can't others talk about other sites? In short, you guys are pretty upset that despite all the efforts, guys are switching to LCHF and proving you guys wrong.

My behavior is not irritating at all. You guys try and irritate and provoke.

Hey, I am not confusing anyone because I have the three plus years experience on LCHF after 2 years of ADA diet, so I am talking about what I KNOW.

You are trying to confuse her without having any EXPERIENCE on LCHF and then writing FACTUALLY incorrect statements against LCHF. I am sharing based on EXPERIENCE and not based on Factually Incorrect Opinions.

Meetu77., u told your views., and sincerely adviced quite a few. dont fight for OUR cause. bcos if all diabettics start following LCHF i am afraid i cant buy butter and cheese. regards. :)

i prefer the items i am buying at a lower rate. :)

No Sridhar - I am not fighting. Incorrect opinions with zero experience needs to be countered. They stop this misinformation campaign and I on't counter them :)

There was a time when butter was in short supply in SWEDEN.

its rabbit and fox theory. :)

BTW ppbs 106 yesterday. first time since 2006. touching of late 110 fbs. thanks lchf.

Great. So white powder (as some self-proclaimed expert on everything calls LCHF diet) is working great.

in reply toMeetu77

Yeah ., I LOVE white powder.

How much ever the ada people fight hard against lchf, the practical fact is lchf rocks and so many of us succeeded in reducing a1c level from 11 up to >5 through lchf.

lchf needs no advertisement - its fact

True shurya!

Experience is the First teacher. FEW have been trying desperately since ages here to convince everyone against LCHF, but their failure to do so results in absurd statements, insults and even personal attacks from them.

So, you are yet another diabetic who benefited from LCHF diet as way of life. Spread the word as a part of social responsibility.

Well, celebs from glamour industry have also taken to the LCHF diet. Here's one reference to back what I say:

examiner.com/article/celebs-embrace-low-carb-diet-trend-ketogenic-paleo-and-atkins-diets-soar

So, nothing to enjoy in lighter vein by anyone who views health seriously. Those who have lost health beyond a point of no return can view it however they want to.

So LCHF rules no matter what personal opinion a "very small number" may hold here. LCHF just works and works out of the box.

Not what you're looking for?
