Being a diabetic ,should I take more pulses in stead of chapatis ?
In case you follow the suggestion of medfree for carb portion try long wheat soaked for 8 hours and cooked like rice and mashed in mixi. ( 45 minutes ) and and take with curd or with milk, cinnamon. -up to 100 grams of carb Two times in a day morning and night.Best wishes.

Please, take note of that carb up to 100 gram per day may be up to 130 gm -two times gives good control over DM.Which contains Vitamins higher fiber content and protein to take of ones food needs especially veg. salas and nut such as wall nut, peanut ( not dried or bioled), Badam and Pista:even Cashew nut in few numbers which contains high good fat. As a mater of fact the Samba ( Long ) wheat is so filling 50 - 60 grams two times is filling and we dont feel like eating more.
I have taken quina, Ragi, Wheat, Rice etc which fills the stomach in higher quantity. Carb is available in all and know it and take it. The result what i have got so far in life no other food or system of medicine has so far produced. Yes LCHF is very good forDM. Nothing wrong in taking Long wheat mash diet Regimen.Quite a few have reported same inference. I think the selection of carb may have to be the choice of individual depending on locationand origion and their choice that suits their Digestive system. I dont accept the only view of any one. Any one who does not get favourable response willl discontinue on their own.
