Yes I am foolowing LCHF. and living in Faridabad. My HbA1c in May was 8.4and in Sept. it was 5.8. I have extensively tested my fasting and pp levels which are now hovering around 80 to 100 and 120 to 140. I am a diabetic since 19 years and before switching over to LCHF diet, doctors suggested to take insulin. Now I do take metformin 500 and occasionaly Glimepride 2mg salt, It has relieved me major worries.

Excellent improvement indeed in your BSL. What LCHF diet were you taking in your meals?

I have left eating chapati and rice. My food is dominated by vegetable and I eat non veg food like fish, chicken egg, meat withour any restrictions but occassionally.

I am using Nutralite for fat in good quantity all the three times atleast 20 to 50 grams.

I drink Green Tea around two times

My main diet for breakfast/lunch/dinner is Chilkawala Moong dal + Soybeen chura+ small amout of Dalia cooked with seasonal veg. like spinach, cauliflower, cabbage, tomato etc along with any sabji.

I occasionaly consume small amount of fruit, a teaspoon of icecream or a teaspoon of halwa

I have also started consuming Cocunut oil.

Only thing i now look forward is fat containing low saturated fats. Can anybody suggest me

It is one of the best combination of LCHF food, I have ever seen for Indians. You can definitely add paneer and curd /chaanch in your diet with powdered roasted zeera to add taste. As far as your search for low saturated fats are concerned, you can take these two items, which not only give you energy throughout the day but also help in regeneration of beta cells of pancreas.

Walnuts: (In 100 grams) - Total fat: 65 gms. Calories: 654, Saturated fat: 6 gms. carbohydrates: 14 gms

Walnuts are uniquely high in omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, which may be of particular value in Type 2 diabetes prevention. Walnuts contain a lot of fat; as much as 80 percent of a nut is fat. Even though most of this fat is healthy fat, it's still a lot of calories. That's why you should eat nuts in moderation. Ideally, you should use nuts as a substitute for saturated fats and should take 6-8 walnuts daily in the morning.

Apart from this, you should also take 6 pieces of almonds daily. Soak these almonds in water overnight and take it in the morning after removing its skin. Chew it thoroughly for some time.

I am taking these two items regularly.

I am pasting here a link where you would find useful for alternate Indian food items.

Please keep on posting your findings here.

Cheers

Thank you very much for your guidance.I definitely agree with your suggestion. But I am retired from a pvt. firm and now 69 years. Much of my money went in doctor's consultation petrol, and medicine. Now every thing has come under control. My thinking is that remedial actions should not become costly rather they should be affordable. Now the price of walnut giri is around 900 to 1000 /Kg. and almond is in the range of 700.Whereas peanuts are poormans almonds.I do drink two glasses of buttermilk lased with blackpepper and some cinnamon powder morning and afternoon half an hour before food.

Moreover care should be exercised while folowing LCHF lot of water intake is to be done. Also one should check cretanine levels also as there is likely hood of increase in protein intake

Raw palak juice one glass per day will supply enough iron and other minerals and also Omega3.

This one glass I am taking at around 9.30 to 10.A.M.

three to four times a week.

Have you liked this alternate to walnut.?

Thanks and look forward for some positive suggestions

Thanks for the response. I really salute your instinct to fight and overcome with this silent killer. Your success is like a ray of light at the end of tunnel for many of us.

I really liked your comment " Remedial actions should not become costly rather they should be affordable". It is very much true and applicable to most of us in our country. I also liked the idea of replacing walnuts and almonds with peanuts.

I am very much found of peanut-kachoomar salad, which I used to take years ago. I have prepared it today on your advice and I really love it.

BTW, I am 51 years old and engineer by profession. I have diagnosed diabetes two months ago. Though, I have acquired some experience to deal with the disease as my mother is also diabetic but that is not enough to end up the episode.

I often think about people, who do not have enough resources and know how to defeat this deadly disease. I also have seen doctors misguiding and looting people to flatten their pocket. Desperate and helpless people do not even know that diabetes can be reversed by simply change in habits.

Further I do not eat Potato, Peas in dried and green form, Banana, Sweet potato, Chickoo, Knolkhol(Gant Gobi) etc.and have started consuming around 20 to 50 grams of peanuts.I want to increase the qty of peanuts and reduce Soya as I am reading adverse reports about Soya in the internet.

Regarding taking the medicine I take metformin atleast 1 hr. before food .

I do not go for morning walk but do around 45 minutes of pranayam and 5 minutes of jogging every day.

After following LCHF food there is considerable improvement in my BP. This has dropped to around 135 to 75 and medicines have been reduced. Now only one tablet of Biodipin-AT is taken per day. I get now sound sleep aswell.

In nut shell I must thank greatly for this site and Mr. Nitin.
