I think you should practice some moderation in your diet so as to bring down the BS levels to less than 110/140..

See i am not a doctor and do not profess expertise. I am only going to tell you from extensive reading and discussions. you should be complimented on yoga and exercise control. At 58 yrs glucose levels of 130/180 are very good, in fact normal by many doctors yardstick. Get your H1BaC checked i am sure it will show god control. Sugar is poison for you never have it even on yr own or wife's birthday. sometimes you can have small honey (good village quality) as it helps pancreas according to many Arabs and Nigerian folk diabetic medicines are honey based. Some Gur is good after dinner as it has minerals and help digestion if you are in place with strong winters. If you are from South/East buy Palm Jaggery as it is allowed for diabetics. I am in Pune but get it witrh difficulty. In your yard grow a few Stevia plants. After meal pluck a leaf and chew it. Your sugar pang will go due to its lovely sweet and sweet aftertaste. If you need to go to a party walk an extra 3 km and burn up your glucogen. So when you eat the sweets it will not increase your glucose in the system. If you can walk slow about 20 min when you return. Life is given by God only once, do not die slow death through deprivation. Have Karela juice with I cucumber and one tomato juice mixed next morning. Cheer kills blood sugar as pancreas works better. If you drink tulsi tea it will slow down the breaking of sugar and its absorption.

His HbA1c with BS 130/190 will show reasonably high value, for sure; something close to or above 8.0%. Never good control.

anilgupta101 in one small study report, consuming stevia has been credited with 18% fall in blood sugar.

First and foremost ,the persons suffering from diabetes should mot lose heart.and be desperate. It can be controlled by observing moderation in food habits, exercise and marginal medication. In fact any thing can be consumed in moderation as long as calories are taken care of.

anantharajarao profile image
anantharajarao in reply to jagadish347

Dear Jagadishji, I always keep half stamac.

in reply to jagadish347

You are right. Calories are most important. But do a google search on Glycemic Index ( GI) and you will understand what i am hinting at. White sugar, Coke, Pepsi are foods with very high GI AND BREAKDOWN IN YR SYSTEM into glucose very fast causing a spike in yr BS and then upset yr insulin production, insulin resistance. When you eat food like brown rice, dals with skin, wheat flour with bran, Raagi/jowar/bajra atta it is of low GI and yr stomach remains full longer coz the breakdown is slower. Life is not so simple as just calories. Roughage delays absorption and improves natural control. A diabetic is very lucky man as he is normally protected from many other problems. Just small care and you will do well.

Dear Ananth, what is your age, does 130 / 190 BS level remains all the time since you had diognised Diabetes in 2004?

I am not a doctor but an experienced paitent since last 17 yrs.

I am a sufferer & before 10 years, at the age of 45 years, I had undergone a bypass sugery. My experience says, if you detected in 2004 BS more than std .level, it might be temporary phase, as you mentioned without medication & with excercise and consuming sweets, BS is controll.

No medicine and / or excercise cures Diab., it reduces rate of deterioration. Diab. is a silent killer, it certainly affect on Heart, Kidney & Eyes in long term if it is detected and not consulted doctor and avoids any kind of medication. It very good that you are doing excercise regularly.

If your BS remains 130 / 190, it is certainly higher than normal. So please be aware, consult a doctor otherwise one fine morning you will be a victim. Do not ignor BS level. God bless you.

I agree with rana and george.

I was diagonized T2 in 1999. My doc encouraged min dose and exercise. After 10 years, the equation turned topsy- turvy. Now I take insulin and with exercise am keeping it under 110-150.

I have undergone Cataract in both eyes and am taking regular medical help. A stitch in time ....

Your BS is without doubt high and can lead to complications. Exercise alone will not help. Avoid anything sweet and minimise carbohydrate rich menu. You need medicines too until the sugar level can be brought down.

tinosphora.giloy worked so good for me for one week, i was so happy my fasting sugar was so good, until on the 8th day I had heart burn and continued for 3 days. My blood pressure was used to be normal and luckily I checked it was high. I stopped taking the pills, heart burn is gone and today blood pressure is better still the resting one is high. What I had read that giloy has no side effects but seems like I had this problem with it. If you want to try it may be one pill in a day whereas I had one in the morning and one at night. I was very happy with the sugar results and my sinus is gone. I will give couple of days and try only one and see what happens. The other med I have which I will try once things settle is ramdev's madhu vati. Can't say much will try and see. My experience is that even if you take something natural does not mean it would not effect something else.

Many poisons capable of killing humans, also come from nature. Being natural is not everything.

I had mentioned that certain recommendations given by Shooter George and medfree are effective in my diabetic control. Of course my Insulin is still on but the dosage is coming down..Basically we can only control the disease with minimum medication by effecting other methods which came in this site.

Dear Anantharaja Rao gaaru! On the face of the facts you have been having healthy way of life. Nevertheless as you are a diabetes patient(like me) it would be always good to be on your guard. Because( according to my limited understanding) some of the side effects may manifest themselves at a later stage when we found ourselves un guarded. Now shall I give you one small advice? Please make hard work as part of your personal life besides having your regular yoga walking and pranayama. Please develop sense of well being at the depth of your mind. Best of luck!

What are you trying to prove? I am now 74, and my diabetic age is 31 years. I have beena type 1 (IDD) diabetic for about 20 years. I am known in family circles for my discipline of diet control and yoga practice. My experience tells me that these disciplines help one to become better in handling diabetes and the complications it is associated with, but also prove that there is no cure for diabetes. Your comment makes me feel that you are adopting a too charmingly simplistic assumed solution for diabetes and feel duty bound to warn you that if you keep away from medical help, health problems related to diabetes will catch up with you sooner than you think. Wake up and take care, if you are really a diabetic.

Hi narasimhan2003 sir,

I am more than a decade younger than you but even then find it difficult to agree with your these words "there is no cure for diabetes". My diabetic age is three & it does not grow after the year 2009. Kindly have a look at healthunlocked.com/diabetes... MY POST 1: Diabetes cured.

Your "diabetic age is 31 & have beena type 1 (IDD) diabetic for about 20 years" does not match. According to my limited knowledge taking Insulin or having to take Insulin does not mean Type 1(IDD).

634shy profile image
634shy in reply to ShooterGeorge

Type 1 diabetes is a disease in which the pancreas does not produce insulin.Type 1 diabetes almost always occurs in childhood, and is caused by an auto-immune reaction - the immune system attacks and destroys the cells that produce insulin. People with Type 1 diabetes need to give themselves a regular supply of insulin, usually through shots or a pump, to maintain a healthy level of sugar in their blood.

Hope the 'good luck' is to me; thank you for that. sir. :-) I feel I should wish you the same & salute you for keeping Diabetes with you for 31 years! I had it with me for only three years!!! It is felt that you can give a try of LWMDR in parallel. It is after all a harmless diet; only thing you have to be cautious about is hypoglycemia.

Wish you good luck & speedy recovery.

So true. I'm definitely in for emmer (long wheat) just have to wait, the farmer will contact me in November after he hulls it and update everyone once I start the program recommended by you ShooterGeorge. Also I'll post the name of the company but I only recommend something if I'm 100% sure. So, if this farmer is able to keep his promise I'll disclose his information for my Canadian friends if there is any looking for longwheat.

Dear Anatharajarao,

It is very heartining to know that so far yu have not used any alopathy medicine at all. Keep it up. But certainly yur Blood sugar level Has to be reduced a bit. It is very good that yur walking about two hours daily & doing yoga & surayanamaskarm ectc. Keep doing it .But my suggession Is that why yu r particular about taking bellam every

day ? take it occassionally only if it so necessary. Another important fact is that if yu can avoid taking Rice items for break fast/ dinner & replace with Sprouted DHANAYAGAL ( LIKE GREEN GRAM,E. cHENNA ,etc or Vegetable cabage califlower, carrot, beans, etc then yur B/S level can be reduced to Normal level also.Remember to take 1/3 portion of food in lunch with Raw salad It will keep yu in good health .. Pl state yur location so that some herbal medicne can also be suggested if yur keen for the same ,
