BSL means Blood Sugar Levels

I became diabetic three years ago. Just two months back, due to lack of diet control and eating wedding sweets, my BSL went to 290mg and with regular Glimepride 1mg.+Metformin 500 mg. tablets twice a day (which is my normal dose prescribed by Diabetician), no reduction in BS level. I was feeling severe headache. Then I went to a good Homoeopathy physician. She prescribed two drops apart from giving some pills (names of pills I do not know please). The names of the two drops are: 1. DIAB AID drops--a homoeopathy medicine (Rs. 85/- 30 ml) 2. DIABOHERB a herbal syrup made of Bimbi, Gurmar, Jambu Beej, Ulatkambal, and Ban Sanjali (Rs. 75/- 180 ml.). The wonder is that within two days I became normal and my PPBS came to 149. Later my family physician (Allopathy doctor) was consuslted and he permitted these supplements.

Sure, DIABAID drops--10 drops in the morning and 10 drops in the evening. DIABOHERB herbal syrup--two teaspoons twice a day before meals. These are as per the advice of the Homoeopathy physician whom I consulted. Certainly both the medicines reduce BSL.

I'm new to this site and also to natural herbs. While trying to look for help to reduce my blood glucose level, I came accross some site linking to youtube and talking about giloy/tinosphora. Did not understand a word but I did search on this plant which I can't get in Canada but found Ramdev pills from an Indian store. It's been about 10 days me taking one in the morning and one at night and my fasting sugar dropped to normal 90 to 100 range or Canadian numbers being 5/6 still continued with my prescribed med which is metformin. Last night I went crazy as saying my last day to eat added sugar desert and had two jalebies and two hrs after eating that sugar was at 12. I only took 1 pill of my prescribed med and one giloy pill and added one or Ramdev's Madhu vati or something like that which I just picked yesterday from Toronto. No excercise after the sugar being at 12 went to bed and in the morning fasting sugar was 5.7 which is again in Indian way around 95. In the past whatever level it was at night it will be around the same in the morning. That Madhu vati has other stuff in it but can't say much about it because I took it the first time last night. So even though the sugar spiked after eating jalebi but it was filtered out of the system. Today, I'm going to take only one prescribed pill in the morning and one at night and will see how the giloy and the madhu pill work. Then may be another week or so provided it's all good I will cut another one and then see. I was happy with giloy but happen to be in Toronto and visited the patanjali store first time and bought the madhu vati as advised by the owner she said it helps to repair organs as well and I thought why not it's only 10 dollars to lose the only draw back is now I won't know if only giloy was good enough or not. So far it was and as the owner said may be just may be the other one will help to cure, she advised to take it for three months only and it should work. Let's see. That's what so far my experience is.

As for Ayurvedic medicine for Diabetes, one may try 'Diabecon' tabs from Himalaya. Two variants are available, the oridinary one and DS (Double Strength) and the latter one is obviously more effective. Being a diabetic (type 2) for the last 4 years, I am currently managing with Diabecon DS, light exercises and brisk walk. I also take fenugreek powder (small teaspoon) mixed in hot or cold water once or twice daily.

what are the BSL and how Diabecon helped to reduce the same? Himalaya also has GILOY capsules in the brand name of GUDUCHI. Whether any friends of this forum tried this and if so, the results please.

Thanks for your reply. BSL means Blood Sugar Level. I take Diabecon DS twice a day, just half hour before meals (both Lunch & Dinner). I have not used Giloy capsules. It is also said that if one continuously take the same medicine for a long time, the effect of which gets reduced gradually. Sugar level fluctuates even with the alopathic medicines and one cannot escape from that. Along with medicine, food and exercise like walking are also very important.
