Check your HbA1c readings every 3 months. It needs to be below 6. Reduce intake of carbohydrates and increase veg and fruits.

I have been advised by my Cardiologist to maintain HbA1C at 7 due to some complications of my heart . Why has he advised me a higher HbA1C?

For non-diabetics, the usual reading is 20-41 mmol/mol

(4-5.9%).

For people with diabetes, an HbA1c level of 48 mmol/mol

(6.5% ) is considered good control, although some people may prefer their numbers to be closer to that of non-diabetics.

People at greater risk of hypoglycemia may be given a target HbA1c of 59 mmol/mol (7.5%) to reduce the risk of too many low blood sugars from occurring.

I think that reducing weight helps immensely in the case of cardiac and diabetes. Possibly you may have had fluctuations in sugar levels and hence your doc targets a higher HbA1c. I suggest you buy and read Dr.Dean Ornish 's book "Reversing heart disease". After six months you might be able to avoid all medication. This depends on your commitment to the lifestyle changes needed. Docs are not gods or all knowing. The human body still is a mystery. Diabetes is curable. Hi Yadav5,

I am not a medical person but even then this looks to be a very strange advice! As I know higher HbA1c will only worsen any health issue, including heart complications.

You may use of herbal based vitamin supplement food which can keep your diabetic level well within control limit.

Walk minimum 2-3 Kms in morning before sunrise as fast as possible you can.

If interested, communicate on my email id sp1964@gmail.com

Hi prawin54,

12 years of diabetes is sufficient to cause foot problems I feel. I got my diabetes cured in three years & hence no problems now.

As the name of the problem indicates (diabetic peripheral neuropathy), the basic reason is DIABETES. Hence any compartmentalised approach to treat/rectify the aftereffect alone, leaving the prime-mover (primary cause) is of very limited use - if at all there is any use.

Same is true in case of diabetic retinopathy, diabetic gangrene, diabetic nephropathy etc. That is why I chose a different route (an unbeaten track) & got my Diabetes cured in a matter of three years.

People take things very lightly in the case of early days of Diabetes either due to ignorance or due to misguidance/cheating or due to unfounded/improper courage & run frantically once damage is happened.

If you keep a piece of paper or cloth very close to a choola or fire, it is only a question of time as to when it will catch fire. Closer the fire, faster it will happen. Once caught fire, you may be knowing that it is almost impossible to reverse it & bring back the paper or cloth to its original state; at best we can prevent further damage & save the remaining. Are things clear to you?

Now the question is how to save the remaining? One thing is clear that what you had been following is not sufficient for that - neither the physicians nor the medicines. I was a diabetic patient during 2006. As nobody could offer me a cure, I discovered a way out & cured my diabetes in three years - that is by the year 2009.
