How often a Sugar-Test is required for a Diabetic patient

When you are initially diagnosed and the sugars are not in control better to check every alternate day at different times of the day like fasting,two hours after BF,few minutes before lunch,two hours after lunch,few minutes before dinner and two hours after dinner.This will establish the pattern of your sugar levels.You can adjust your diet plans accordingly and if you show the results to your doctor,he will be able to fine tune your medications.Once you manage to control the sugar levels,then once or twice in a week should be sufficient to give you a fair idea of your condition.

My doctor advised me to take test for Blood Glucose fasting and PP every month and Hb1AC every 3 months and advised even if there is a flash in the pan of a high fasting/PP level in one of the month's reports, nothing to worry so long Hb1AC is less than 6.5.

When you start a drug or change it, FBS & PPBS daily for 3-4 days. In steady state once in a month is sufficient; HbA1c once in 3-4 months. Every time FBS & PPBS can be different. So if you test more frequently, you will go mad & pauper.

People who are not & could not be CURED of diabetes will & can only say that it can NOT be CURED.

But people who are CURED can not say so. They will say DIABETES IS CURED, BECAUSE IT IS THEIR OWN EXPERIENCE.

I am cured of diabetes Type II & so I keep saying that AT LEAST TYPE II DIABETES IS CURABLE.

It is up to the patients to decide whom to believe & follow. If one follow a wrong path one will reach only a wrong destination.

Those who do not want cure can believe those who are not cured & those who can not cure.

I can only tell. I cannot make them do what I did.

There is a proverb "THE JOCKEY CAN ONLY TAKE THE HORSE TO A STREAM" which means that THE PROCESS OF DRINKING WATER TO QUENCH THE THIRST IS TO BE DONE BY THE HORSE ONLY; jockey is helpless in that.
