Is Gemmer 1 Tablet also banned ?? as published in papers.

I received an SMS stating that several medications having pioglitazone are banned by GOI.Better talk to your doctor immediately.

Gemer 1 contains two fixed drug combinations viz., Glimepiride and Metformin.

Gemer 2 contains three fixed drug combinations viz., Pioglitazone , glimepiride and metformin. This has now been banned by Govt of India.

The health ministry has suspended the sale of two drugs - painkiller Analgin and anti-diabetes drug Pioglitazone and all its combinations.
