Please maintain your present status and keep monitoring to see if your diabetes is in control or not. Also take care about hypoglycemia, because your control is good.
A few thoughts on morning sugar being high :
1) Check out keywords - "Gluconeogenesis", "Dawn phenomenon" and "Somogyi effect".
2) I used to face this problem. Checked my sugar around 3 am (reading - 60) at night & then checked it again around 5 am ( reading around 80). It was kind of, body was pumping in sugar to take care of the low sugar.
3) Also, Have checked sugar, immediately on waking up (around 5 am) & it used to be 80 - 85. Then checked again around 7.30 am, just before having breakfast, found it to be between 100 - 110. Once, I did not have breakfast till 9.30 am & the sugar had shot up to 160.
4) In my case, reducing diabetes medicine in the night, lead to more stable & within range readings in the morning.
Glucometer is your friend.
Take informed decisions.
Thanks
As I have heard from a medical graduate, there is only one hormone to reduce blood sugar level but there are FOUR hormones to increase it & as it go below 70 these guys jump into action. That's why your morning BS grew before breakfast, I suppose.
Was not aware of this.
Thanks for the info.
I thought about it as Newton's Law ( Correct me if I am wrong )- "Every action has an equal & opposite reaction". Only in case of our body, it may not be exactly equal, bcos we have already damaged its systems due to our habits or age.
Thanks
I was repeating the words of a elderly practicing doctor. He uttered the names but I could remember only cortisone, because I could immediately relate it to BS rise in diabetics when they take tabs with cortisone content.
I have my own doubt about applying Newton's laws to biology. Here reaction is the increase of blood sugar, right? Then what is the action? Blood sugar going below 70 mg/dl? If it is so where from does the extra sugar come to the blood to raise the level, as you have seen from 80-85 to 100-110?
Action - Sugar goes low.
Reaction - Body pumps in sugar to try & bring it back to normal.
Mechanism - Perhaps, 1) Check out keywords - "Gluconeogenesis", "Dawn phenomenon" and "Somogyi effect".
Not a medical professional, just someone who is trying to live with diabetes, so you can take all my words with a pinch of salt.
By the way shooter, earlier, when i read one of your posts about how, you cured diabetes, I was & am still experimenting in a similar manner, with other food materials.
What should you ask the shop-keeper to give, when you ask for Long wheat, the one that you used (my shopkeepers were not aware, when I asked them for Long wheat)? The kind of shops we have are either Mangalore stores (run by mangaloreans) or Kirana stores (run by Gujaratis). I want to give your method a trial.
Pls note : I tried using the various names given in your page in different languages & was not successful.
Thanks
Dear Sir,
Thanks for the suggestions. I will perform the sugar tests as you have done.
* Do not consume food after 6:00 pm.(Alternate medicine).
* Fasting blood sugar up to 110 mg/dL is normal according to WHO. But American Diabetes Association (ADA) has lowered the normal limit of fasting blood sugar as < 100mg/dL.
Please also see my blogs on Diabetes management.

stop some medicines..high dose..& u r taking dinner late & heavy ...
Follow the Longwheat diet appropedia.org/Diabetes_mel... Then your blood sugar will become more normal. As it approach 70 reduce medicine logically & gradually. One day you will be able to discontinue medicines & live happily ever after, in-fearful of diabetes.
as we all know the side effect of regular intake of medicines you should try something which can detoxify your body and help you to maintain sugar level naturally with no side effect to know more pls mail at dhancholiya42@hotmail.com
Have a couple of Malyali friends. Will try to find out from them.
Gujratis belong to the state of Gujarat & the language is Gujarati.
Am located in Mumbai.
Thanks
Thanks shooter.
Will try to check out on that. My mother tongue happens to be Kannada, unfortunately, I do not know how to read or write in that, as I was born & brought up in Mumbai. I am pretty familiar with Marathi language.
Once again Thanks a lot.
OK good. All the best. Go ahead & conquer diabetes & lead a happier life after that.
