Rice,wheat,other grains,potato,beet and other root vegetables rich in starch are important source of carbohydrates.For utilizing the carbohydrate energy,insulin is essential which is in short supply with diabetics.So, if you cut down on the foods that are rich in carbohyrdrates,demand for insulin will decrease and your diabetes will improve.You can also try to have smaller quantities of food at each meal but have more number of meals
