Natural sweetners may be preferred over synthetic sweetners. Never use aspartame, a synthetic sweetner.

Fructose has low glycemic index. A low-GI food will release glucose more slowly and steadily, which leads to more suitable postprandial (after meal) blood glucose readings.

Glucose, Table sugar ( 50 % glucose,50 % fructose), and fructose are ALL bad for health. . Yes, You are right! Fructose does not need insulin...It is the liver which is metabolising it. Liver creates uric accid while it does that. The accepted levelof the acid is 5.5mg/dl.

Though upper limit of fructose per day is about 25gms, it is better to lmit it to 15 gms as there are many 'hidden sources' which give you the fructose load. The main source of fructose are fruits and some dry fruits. The problems of uric acid are gout, kidney problems, arthritis.

As Turner says " I will use sugar instead of all the sweeteners" , the context in which he says is that the body knows this devil since evolution. Where as all other sweeteners are laboratory synthesised and their negative effects are coming out now.

""

I have as a trial started using dextrose/glucose for my quota of two cups of coffee which I am not able to avoid... ( Small mercies in life..). It does not add to my fructose load . ( My fructose load was higher after I switched over to more vegetables and fruits"; Vegetables were not the culprit. Fruits were; that too somefruits. No sweets, No energy drinks, No sweet corn fructose- added 'sugar free foods' availble in shopping marts/malls. No diabetesfoods....""..... This is my experience and thinking based on research being donein this field.

You may read my forth coming blog on Fructose.....

Many people want to know what other artificial sweeteners they can safely use instead of aspartame. My first recommendation is NOT to use any chemical sweeteners at all, but merely use natural sugars or learn to adjust to the natural sweetness of raw foods themselves................sweetpoison.com/aspartame-s...
