personal experience is

--initially I was suffering with hyper thyroidism, 30 years back

-- it was treated with radio iodine nuclear medicine & since then I am on continuous medication for hypo thyroidism ( lower levels of thyroxine harmones )

--till date I have been given treatment for pernaceous anaemia, deficiency of D3, lower levels of B12, urinery track blockage, gall bladder operation & presently treatment is continuing for Type II BS & Artheritis ( joint pains )

--very lately, came to know the reason for all these problems is auto immune disorder in the body

--interested to know the precautions to be taken to avoid such problems by any body with thyroid defect & relation between various harmones like T3,T4,TSH,PTH,Bile etc
