See i am not a doctor i have shared my experience not advised anybody. I only can say you should remain fit & avoid deases.

In low sugar condition called Hypoglycemia, you would not have taken food for long. The medicines continue to work and push down the sugar levels. You will feel hunger.

In high sugar, your blood is loaded with sugar but the body cells can not utilize it for energy due to lack of insulin or insulin resistance. It is like being in the midst of sea and not having a drop to drink. The sugar gets washed out through urine and the body craves for more food because the cells are starved of energy.

The solution for both problems is eating more number of meals in smaller quantities but keeping the over all quantity at moderate level.

when you are in high BS n feel hungry take some foods allowable in diabetic conditions and consult your dr. asap. when hungry in low BS below 70 means you have to take some sweets, or cool drinks imm. until conscious. If fainted, nothing should be given but imm. restore to medical treatment with glucose injection. If any tries to feed fainted person will result to choke and its risky. Pls. note.

* Eat less food, more times in a day. (This will help to manage both hypoglycemia and hyperglycemia).

* Avoid consuming food at night.

* Diabetes may cause elevated high blood cholesterol. Adopt DASH diet (Mediterranean diet). Eat a low-cholesterol, low-fat diet, which includes cottage cheese, fat-free milk,

fish, vegetables, poultry, and egg whites. Use monounsaturated oils such as olive, peanut, and canola oils or polyunsaturated oils such as corn, safflower, soy, sunflower, cottonseed, and soybean oils. Avoid foods with excess fat in them such as meat (especially liver and fatty meat), egg yolks, whole milk, cream, butter, shortening, pastries, cakes, cookies, gravy, peanut butter, chocolate, olives, potato chips, coconut, cheese (other than cottage cheese), coconut oil, palm oil, and fried foods.

* All mammals and birds do not take food at night.

* 12 hour fasting may reduce fasting blood sugar.(alternate medicine).

* Digestive system may get rest and hence the blood sugar can be diverted to other vital organs such as heart, kidney and brain.
