Is there any test which can determine whether the body is producing any insulin?

The reason is that such test can guide you to switch to injectible insulin in place of oral drugs as the role of oral drug is to just control the entry of glucose in the blood. If here is no insulin in the body, how long the oral drugs will be effective?

C-Peptide.

C-Peptide is the test from which u can find that insuling is being produced by your body or not and if produced so in how much amount.

From this test u can decide that whether u r type 1 or type 2 diabetic patient.

If your body doesnt produce insulin then u have to take insulin otherwise if your body produces some amount of insulin then u can control that by taking oral drugs.
