VITTALANAND IS CORRECT. FASTING SUGAR IS TO BE DONE IN THE MORNING ONLY. WHAT YOU HAVE DONE IS RANDOM CHECK UP. IT CAN NOT BE ACCURATE READING.

u r right dear, this regimen is to be applied for where anti diabetic drugs are being given and a impending danger of hypoglycemia to occur due to the effect of these drugs is there. Here a robust meal is avoided for not allowing BGL to rise beyond its required parameters and so taking food at short intervals is also recommended to avoid hypoglycemia that is too more dangerous.

According to a doctor friend of mine in the US, when your sugar level drops a few hours after your dinner your liver starts releasing sugar into the blood which may raise the fasting sugar level. So if you are in the habit of taking your dinner early you should eat a small amount of carb (a fruit / a couple of biscuits/ cup of milk etc.) before going to sleep. This will prevent the release of sugar by the liver. You may check this out with a doctor.
