Early morning out of bed I get severe calf pain on both legs - This will go after some time ! Also, I noticed a slight pain on the feet while walking:-
I'm 72 diabetic under control with Lantus and Metformin
I drink a peg of alcohol everyday with evening meal
Does this affect my blood sugar level ? I'm taking Pregabalin 75mg OR any other tablet will help with the cramps ?
Thank you, all

I have the same thing although not on meds. I got "RENPHO Wireless Compression Leg Massager for Cordless Calf Ankle Wraps Massage with Rechargeable, 3 Modes 3 Intensities" and it has reduced it considerably. I put them on in the evening and they go for 20 mins on the lowest setting, Felt dreadful on at first but fine now I have got used to them and it is fine. However, I was advised to take Magnesium and I did that for a month but it did not work for me even though it did for a lot of people so that may be the first port of call. Good luck.
After several disputes with my diabetes nurse, I eventually by-passed her, got to see my GP and got off Metformin. So many minor pains and cramps disappeared as a result, as did the often uncontrollable laxative effects. I am now on Empagliflozin which is far more friendly.
So see if you can consult with your surgery's pharmacist to seek an alternative prescription.
