are you taking metformin?

any tingling/numbness in your hands/fingers?

any stomach issues, eg acid reflux

given your age there is a good chance you may have developed B12 absorption problems. metformin and treatments that lower stomach acidity will also cause absorption problems. the huge overlap in symptoms of B12 deficiency and diabetes, and poor understanding of B12 deficiency in GPs mean it is often missed - along with the lack of good diagnostic tools.

I'm lucky to have an understanding GP who put me on B12 injection every 3 months ! There's no tingling on upper body but the CRAMPS on lower leg muscles are severe - I'm on metformin 1000gm and Victoza in the morning and Lantus 40ml in the evening. My concern is the long term effect while walking and if there any tablet available to avoid swelling, etc. T/Q

not sure what swelling you are referring to - if you have oedema that could be indicative of kidney problems. Think you need to speak to your GP.
