Right foods for diabetics

Hi...I am Erquelie Shirley 58 years old. I am new here and I want to know more about diabetes ailments. Thank you.

What type of diabetes do you have and are you on medication? There can be complications if you let your blood glucose get out of control but with good diet and/or medication you can go into remission with Type 2.

You need to be aware of the amount of carbohydrate you eat, too much will spike your blood glucose as carbohydrate in all its forms (including sugar!) turns into glucose in the body and that's what diabetics have trouble processing.

Have a look on the Diabetes.org.uk website, lots of useful information and educational modules and lots of good articles on healthy eating. Also, Xperthealth.org.uk is a good website, they do courses for diabetics and having done one I can really recommend it.

Thanks for enlightenment...my husband is diabetic not me but I want to know more about this desease because he is in medication.

What medication is he on and is he type 1 or type 2?

Type2...he's taking losartan.

Metformin for his diabetes/ losartan for his high blood pressure and also there is a medicine for his heart.....
