Hi, I'm caring for my husband who has end stage liver disease, he also has diabetes type 2 which is managed by metformin and insulin, his bloods have been consistently high for the last 5 months and in an effort to better manage this he was switched to Toujeo and Humalog..readings remain high the morning reading is always within range but other readings are around 15. His diet I think is healthy . He needs to take lactulose twice daily , this is a must as he suffers from encephalopathy , I have been advised the is a sugar free lactulose in powder form so I will ask HP to prescribe this. If anyone could share dietary advice it would be very much appreciated.😊
