Hi all i am new here, in 2012 at the age of 37 i was diagnosed with diabetes type 2, of course it was devastating, i was 18.6 stones in weight, i struggled up until 2016 because i was also suffering from severe depression and anxiety, finally i knew i had to do something to change my life, i began a very strict diet and in home excercise regime, in June 2019 i went to my doctor after avoiding them for several years, my new weight was 13.5 stones in weight, i was finally in remission from diabetes, i have since come down to 13 stones, i worry still as i have been told that i am still obese, i am 5 feet 5 inches and i dont know what i can do to loose more weight, i feel good and healthy, any advice?

How did you go into remission from diabetes because I pray every night that I will die as I developed diabetes when I was in a nursing home (I was put in after my ex boyfriend got me that drunk that I collapsed and almost died and was put into a nursing home and went from 5’1” and 47kg to 5’1” 82kg from not being allowed to do any exercise at the nursing home and now I live in a very strict housing system where I cannot leave til after 10am and have to be by 2pm and they are like a concentration camp about my sugars ) and after growing out of my chocolate allergies and developing a sweet tooth I despise being type 2 insulin dependent diabetic so help please

What insulin and dose are you on? Do you have a CGM to help control your blood sugars, Pepa73 ? Did they do an A1c recently?

I use the keto diet or low carb high fat to lose weight and control my blood sugar levels and lost lots easily while feeling full and having increased energy and better moods. After just 3 months I was off metformin and bloods have been within normal range since even though I do still have sugar and carbs I shouldn’t. Diet Doctor. Com have free meal plans
