Hi Mandy, you re not alone! I can only speak from personal experience. I have been diabetic for 6 years, a bit overweight and resigned to it getting worse , more pills etc. but I did a bit of research and found out about what's called the low carbohydrate, high fat diet. Long story short, in five weeks I ve lost a stone, feel great and my blood sugar levels are coming down. and my eating habits are changed for ever. I repeat, this is my personal experience and others will have different opinions. Good luck and keep posting. JanR

Jan is spot on. Follow her example and research all you can on LCHF. Start here:

Get started taking care of that diabetes. I waited too long and really became very ill. I have diabetic neuropathy in the hands and feet. I now have an insulin pump with a continuous glucose monitoring system,so take care of yourself now. It only gets worse with time. I was giagnosed 20 years ago with an A1C of 10.5. I wish i had listened to my doctor back then. My A1C is now 7.0 and I'm feeling much better. Good luck.
