Hi, I've been told my blood sugar result is 4.3 and that 4.2 and under is not diabetic and 4.8 and over is.Does anyone know what these readings are.I tried to look it up but my results don't fit with any tables.

Thanks for answering. It was an hbA1c test, whatever that is.

No u r not Diabetic.

I would say that your sugar readings are normal. I am on insulin and was always told that sugar levels between 4 and 8 is the normal range and this is what to aim for. Anything above 8 and then your GP may monitor you as could be borderline diabetic. If they are 4.3 I would not worry. If you were getting readings of less than 4.2 then you start going into possible hypo area with low blood sugar. As long as you are between 4 and 8 I would not worry. If you are concerned mention it to your GP and a simple blood test from them could put your mind at ease.
