diabetic eye infections

partner is losing his sight due to diabetes, he has started on injections had them once a month for 5 months had no issues until the last one on Friday he was fine until this morning, his eye is red and he says it’s burning , also has black floating things in his eye, he hates hospitals, any advice ???

Only sensible advice is immediate medical help really. Sight is too precious to risk.

I ended up taking him to urgent care, turns out he has 2 types of bacteria in his eye, germ positive and germ negative, had antibiotic injection , and is now on 3 lots of eye drops , he’s having eye surgery tomorrow to remove the infection and gunk, but his eye sight may not come back
