My pd symptoms were mistaken for an anxiety disorder. Lucky me , I was already on xanax and am able to continue it . Ask your doctor for some help.

As much as humanly possible, I avoid any situation that could provoke an anxiety attack, with the help of lorazapam. I had to quit work, so I try to take things slower in life and avoid any conflict. the trick is educating my friends about this. Anxiety and panic attacks are very debilitating in PD. It's a battle.

I don't do Lexapro anymore because it made me more depressed. The News in General has been totally a downer this century!!

Music and hot baths. Wish I could add wine but it is counter indicated with my meds.

Red wine is medicinal research has proven it's good for people with Parker's - try it in moderation life is too short not to have a little squiffy one !

I will join you

Oh I nearly forgot to mention that 1 good belly laugh keeps the parkers at bay. Do something that makes you laugh get those DVD's out or go to the movies to watch a comedy.

You need to allow your body to have some adrenalin by doing some kind of excercise / activity.

Getting your heart pumping with good ," your in control energy". Something like riding a bike whether stationary or free wheel or something similar to give you that rush of "feel good factor "

Or just dancing to some wild music will do the trick just as well. Give it a try it's amazing how you feel

A brochure called DASH to the Infoline was developed to answer some of the questions you are asking. DASH standing for Depression, Anxiety,Sleeplessness,Hallucinations. Just Google DASH for the infoline.

The brochure was paid for by the Australian Govt. and developed by Doctors of the Sydney University Brain And Mind institute and Parkinsons NSW.
