Hi Everyone, Does anyone else suffer with really bad anxiety over things that really don’t matter? I seem really confident to others but really I’m not. I’m a survivor and I’ve learnt through the years to cope with so much pressure in my life alone with this issue, no one really understands anxiety. Surely I’m not the only one?

Anxiety it is part of this disease. Mine got fixed by Thiamine which gave me mental and physical energy.

I had this conversation with my spouse literally 5 minutes ago. I tend to worry about everything and everyone and I can literally feel the pain increasing as my anxiety ramps up. A friend of mine reminded me that , “I am not little Jesus” and I need to let others worry about their own stuff and to just be concerned about the stuff in my own life that I can control. When I was unmedicated I was off the charts, but the c/l and the supplements I take are super helpful. However, life/stress/anxiety still happens....all I can do is to do what I can to manage it. All the best to you!!

L-Theanine may help.

Anxiety is quite common in PD. High dose thiamine has definitely reduced mine.

What dose? And can I get it where I get my normal supplements? (Newly diagnosed - Jan 2019). Anxiety is my main trigger 😞 )

I don't have an easy answer. I take IM injections prescribed by my ND. Many members here take oral thiamine HCL. The best thing you can do is to read the HDT posts by easilly (Art). He has consolidated the information. Below is the link to his profile. You can also do a search on B1 or thiamine and tons will come up.

Yes I too suffer anxiety and have been lucky enough to be offered a course of CBT which I’m finding very useful.

For anxiety try hardy’s Daily essential nutrients and hardy’s Inositol. My husband’s chronic anxiety ( to the point of being suicidal) stopped within 3 days of starting on these, and 2 months later he is still feeling great.

Where did you purchase these?

I am in New Zealand and got them from a place called nature zone, but here is the site for US or Canada. hardynutritionals.com/produ...

If you are somewhere else try the Canadian free phone number and talk to them about how to order it. You need the ok from your GP or psychiatrist as they work so well you may need to taper off pharmaceuticals shortly after starting taking them.

According to what I read/watch, B1 Thiamine and magnesium can help anxiety and sleep.

Hi, I was the same as you and worried about everything. Things like heights and bendy roads scared me, when they never had before. I read about vitamin B1 and decided to try it. After about 2 weeks I found my brain fog had lifted and I felt much better in myself. Most of my anxiety had gone and my husband said I was a different person, so it helped me. I started with 500 mg twice a day but reduced it to 250 mg twice a day. That dose seemed to suit me better and still worked so I have stuck to that for a couple of months now. We are in a very stressful moving house situation at the moment but I am coping well. The B1 has not had any effect on my tremor though but has made a big difference, so well worth a try. Hope you manage to sort this out as it does have a big impact on life.

I highly recommend a couple of authors who have helped me with anxiety and even panic attacks. Claire Weekes is an easy read and her methods have helped many. Also David Burns who works with your unhelpful thinking patterns that cause anxiety (CBT). Both help me immensely.

Thanks Pad! I am going to put those on my reading list!!

I second the L-Theanine. Started my dad on it for about a week. My mom said that it appears to be helping. We'll see what the long term affects will be.

This helps but you'll need more than that to really make a difference. Pad10 mentioned part of it.

I was on the same boat during our Vegas trip last year. I would suggest him to download the guided meditation application and try to practice it regularly. Which helped me a lot.

You are not alone. Anxiety is very common. I have been able to overcome it by regular high intensity exercise. High level exercise produces various chemicals in the body. Look at my website - reverseparkinsons.net and contact me, it costs nothing!

Whatever you choose to do it needs to be a good long term option. Exercise, good nutrition and meds are all part of taking control and that really helps with anxiety.
