quick & easy my change was done in less than an hour under local anestitic. they covered my face so i could not see or they can put you under general your choice. after the real op ( mine was done all at thesame time 13 hrs easy peasy

I have been told that your in hospital for 48hours or more. before that a pre op.

please could you tell me where your battery's are? What was done at the same time ?

Also what were you doing for 12 hrs .

batterys are in a pocket formed in my upper left chest. When the instilation of the system was done 26 July 2005 at Durban South Africa they did the complete op in 1 day and because I was the first the surgeon had preformed it on (with guidance from a expert flown in from europe by medtronic) my op was done by DR Malan Roux - a well respected neuro surggen world wide

I've had my battery changed 3 times. No problems, no pain afterwards. It took @ hour under general anesthesia. My battery is located in my upper right chest just below the skin. It is done a an outpatient procedure. In by 8am home by 5pm. Very little discomfort. The last battery replacement I was given a rechargeable battery that won't have to be replaced for 10 years with proper charging. Good luck to you,

I had mine replaced and like the others in and out same day. I have mine on the left side, and I have already been told that when this one goes which we figure should be aroud november they have a newer type as they said It the cadillac model. They have a wider range they adjust you.. But when i had this one done I was out of work for about a week.
