In my previous blog; “Motor Symptoms Cured – what happens now?” I asked how we would be viewed if the motor symptoms were cured but not the cognitive symptoms.
Suppose a cure for everything was found, a one off treatment that was permanent and gave us a back all our faculties.
Rehabilitation in to society would be the big issue I would guess for PWP, in the short term at least.
If you haven’t worked in a while job prospects would be bleak and benefits would probably be denied. You would have all the advantages of movement and improved thought processes but could be left in limbo.
The drug companies would lose a huge market and the charities would have no purpose.
Could be some interesting times ahead?
Let’s hope it’s a problem we have to deal with.
